The origin of the musical situations of Deità silvane (1917), with lyrics by Antonio Rubino, originates in the love for the musical gestures of the past, re-proposed by Respighi with the continuous invention of antidotes to the poison which afflicts them, so as to keep them alive. The heterogeneity of the lyrics included on this disc may be surprising, yet each of these songs is a quest for style. A beautiful portrait of Ottorino Respighi"s vocal work.
