On The Jazz Book, Lillian s band is joined by New Orleans legend Dr. John (Mac Rebennack), an old friend who embodies a musical approach very close to Lillian s own. Bassist Lloyd Lambert and pianist Edward Frank have also known and worked with Dr. John for many years. Another featured player is young virtuoso Leroy Jones, who came to prominence as the lead trumpeter in the Harry Connick, Jr. Big Band.
