18th century Scottish and Irish music performed on the viola da gamba, a baroque cousin of the cello that looks like a bowed guitar, and sounds like a soulful human voice. Jigs, reels, airs, variation sets, O"Carolan tunes and Oswald sonatas are played on viol and harp, harpsichord, or guitar. Some tracks feature a band of fiddle, recorder/whistle and bazouki.
