The Schecter C-4 Custom Electric Bass Guitar is a reasonably priced powerhouse with a modern body shape and beautiful Trans Crimson stain. Fully stocked with all of the quality components you"ve come to know and expect from Schecter like Schecter bass tuners, trustworthy woods, EMG pickups and shapeable 3-band EQ amongst other things. Schecter Bass tuners provide high quality, precision tuning with minimum weight. The tuners feature a 17:1 gear ratio allowing for precise fine tuning adjustments, removable knobs, threaded peghead bushing, and a 13.6mm diameter peg hole. The most common fretboard, Rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than Maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores. The neck is made from 3 pieces of maple and 2 center strips of walnut. This well balanced combination of select wood takes the bright tones of maple and adds a dark tone from the walnut strips. Often used for Thru neck construction giving the acoustic tone of the instrument a perfect string vibration transfer to the body. The EMG 35HZ pickup uses EMG"s "CS" design (Ceramic and Steel). The resulting tone is much warmer because of the higher inductance of the steel, and thus has a smoother attack and a flatter high end. All of the HZ bass pickup models feature solid bar magnets that cover the entire width of the strings so any string layout can be used. The EMG SJHZ pickup uses a stacked design with ceramic magnets and a laminated steel core for increased output and lower noise. The EMG active B64 3-band E/Q was designed for contouring bass, mid and treble frequencies of bass guitar. It has a tighter filter bandwidth giving a more pronounced effect from each control. The mid-cut of the B64 is perfect for funk with its mid-range centered at a lower frequency.
