By the time he did this album, Miles had a working sextet with John Coltrane, Julian Cannonball Adderley, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb. Playing mostly flugelhorn and, on a few places, muted trumpet, Miles sounds wonderful on these sides. Evans" arrangements still sound modern and imaginative, and in many cases as mentioned in the original liner notes make clear reference to the play and the lyrics of the songs. Disconforme. 2009.
