For more than 40 years, Maria del Mar Bonet has been one of the major voices of Mediterranean music. Born in Palma de Majorca, she moved to Barcelona at the end of the 60"s and formed part of what was called "La Nova Canco" (The New Song), an artistic movement that emerged during the final years of General Franco"s dictatorship. Other famous members of the movement are Joan Manual Serrat and Lluis Llach. Raixa (the name of a garden in Majorca), was recorded in concert at Placa Del Rei Barcelona and celebrates Bonet"s 25th year of concerts in this venue.
