Havahart Fence Free Underground Dog Fence System Create a safe and secure area for your dog without having to install a physical fence, using the Havahart Fence Free Underground Dog Fence System. Installing a physical fence on your property could limit your view, not to mention the high cost and constant maintenance associated with a physical fence. How It Works The Havahart Fence Free Underground Dog Fence comes with wires that you bury around the boundaries of your containment area, creating a closed loop. Once you have your wire buried and your loop complete, the Fence Free Controller creates a boundary and helps deter your dog from exiting your containment area. As your dog reaches the edges of the containment area (known as the warning zone) the collar will sound an audible warning tone to alert the dog to retreat back away from the warning zone (with proper training). If your dog continues to move towards the fence boundary, an initial low-level static correction occurs to encourage your dog to move back away from the boundary. In the event your dog continues to move towards the boundary even after the low-level static correction, a higher level of correction you set will be administered to attempt to prevent your dog from exiting the containment area. Multiple Correction Levels The water resistant collar of the Havahart Fence Free Underground Dog Fence System features 6 levels of correction, allowing you the ability to customize the correction, based on your dog temperament. There is a tone only mode that will alert your dog using audible sounds only. There are also 5 different levels of static correction with the tone warning. The factory setting is on the lowest static correction. Easy To Setup The wall mount transmitter on the Havahart Fence Free Underground Dog Fence features an easy to set and easy to read control panel. Pair this with our step-by-step instruction manual and you will have your containment area set up easily. As with any wired underground dog fence, you must install the wire boundary into the ground along the edges of your desired containment area. The Havahart Fence Free Underground Dog Fence is an easy Do-It-Yourself solution to creating a containment area that allows your dog to roam free without a leash. This gives your dog freedom and you peace of mind. Additional Safety Feature Over Correction Protection: In the event that your dog becomes trapped or confused in the signal field, the Havahart Fence Free Underground Dog Fence will limit stimulation. The Fence Free will stop static correction after 10 seconds and not accept any additional signal from the fence for 30 seconds. The collar will revert to normal operation after the 30 second window. We want to help you train your dog and this feature will help reinforce training and prevent your dog from being over-corrected. What’s in the Box? Commonly Asked Questions Q: How do I repair a broken wire on my Fence Free Containment System? A: The best way to fix a broken or cut wire is to splice the wire together using a wire nut or any common splicing tool. It is good to keep extra boundary wire around as the easiest way is to splice a new piece of wire to both ends of the broken boundary wire so you have slack and prevent the wire from pulling apart at the splice. Q: How long will it take to train my dog? . A: Your commitment to training your dog will be the key factor to success. Training sessions should be 10-20 minutes long, 3-4 times per day. The four steps should take approximately three days each to complete. Q: Which probes for the Wireless Collar should I use on my dog? A: Use short probes for short haired dogs and longer probes for longer or thicker haired dogs. Q: Will the Havahart Wireless Collar correction harm my dog? A: No. Mild static correction is similar to static electricity. Your dog will probably not like the static correction and may experience temporary discomfort. If you are not comfortable with your dog receiving a static correction, you can set the correction level to tone-only. It is highly recommended that you begin the training program with the Wireless Collar set to tone-only. Q: How old does my dog need to be in order to use a Fence Free Containment System? A: The collar and system are made for use on dogs over 6 months old, weighing over 8 lbs. The system will work for any coat type.
