Cosequin® EQ Powder Dosage Guidelines: Initial Dose: Average Horse (less than 1200 pounds) - 3 level scoops AM & PM Horses over 1200 lb. - 4 level scoops AM & PM Overly large horses (draft breeds) may need 4 or 5 scoops AM & PM Keep your horse on the initial dosage until the horse has begun to respond. Do not reduce the amount of Cosequin® EQ Powder too soon. After achieving a good response begin reducing the daily total daily amount by one level scoop each week. Gradually reducing the amount will help find the correct maintenance level for your horse. Carefully observe and monitor the horses movement and attitude to ensure that it is feeling comfortable following each reduction. Maintenance Dose: Average horse (less than 1200 pounds) - 1 level scoop AM & PM Horses over 1200 lb. - 2 level scoops AM & PM Carefully observe your horse and dent hesitate to increase the dose as needed to maintain desired comfort level. Additional Information: Two or three days prior to heavy workouts or competition boost daily dosage back up to initial loading dose.
