Soviet-built UAZ 469 Paradyj Covered Jeep, Czechoslovak Army. The information provided on the labels on the box and the model"s base appears to be in error. These both identify the model as "2003 UAZ 469 Czechoslovakia Airfield Army" but Czechoslovakia ceased to exist on January 1, 1993 when it peacefully split into Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The UAZ 469 was introduced in 1973 and was used by the Czechoslovakian People"s Army. Some of these remained in service with the Czech Republic"s Army but these apparently were soon phased out and replaced with more modern vehicles. Finally, we were unable to find any reference at all to an "Airfield Army" of either country. Despite this confusion as to the actual prototype represented by the model, we believe it is that of an actual vehicle and as such, would be a very interesting addition to any collection of diecast military vehicles, particularly those of the former Soviet Bloc.
