1-72 Scale. The C-97A Stratofreighter was simply a transport conversion of the B-29 Super fortress. Several modifications had to be made to the basic B-29 design to build an effective transport. The most obvious change was the redesign of the fuselage to provide more interior room. The C-97A was the first aircraft to be able to fly at 383 mph with a payload of 53,000 pounds. With a range of 3,100 miles, the Stratofreighter was a very versatile craft. This model was reduced from an original Boeing blue print. Detailed engine assemblies bring realism to the craft. Exterior surface of aircraft is detailed with fully engraved panel lines and bolt heads. Highly detailed cockpit is filled with seats, gauges, and controls. Clear cockpit canopy allows inspection of interior. Landing gear system is faithfully reconstructed to look precisely like the original aircraft.
