Detailed 1/72 scale assembly model kit of the Junkers Ju 290, a long-range transport, maritime patrol aircraft and heavy bomber used by the German Luftwaffe late in World War II. Introduced in 1942, the Ju 290 was a militarized version of the Ju 90 airliner developed in the late 1930"s, and the Ju 290 slated to supplant the aging Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor. Like the Fw 200, the Ju 290 had exceptional range, often remaining airborne for up to 18 hours during reconnaissance and maritime patrol missions.
