This wine is from Italy, Piedmont region, Langhe sub-region. Based in Castiglione Falletto in Piedmonts Langhe wine region, the Vietti winery isowned by the familys fourth generation. In 1919 Mario Vietti made the first Viettilabeled wines. By mid-century Alfredo Currado married Marios daughter and madea name for Viettis single vineyard Barbera and Barolo. Alfredo was one of the first toselect and vinify grapes from single vineyards, a radical concept at the time. He alsoput the varietal Arneis on the wine map and is recognized as the father of Arneis. In1990, Luca Vietti joined the family business as winemaker after working atCalifornias Simi Winery, Opus One, Long Vineyards and Bordeauxs Mouton-Rothschild. His innovativewinemaking utilizes a unique combination of the modern and traditional. He eliminated equipment thatmeasures acid and tannin levels in favor of a more intuitive approach. Vietti organically farms more than25 single vineyards with vines up to 90 years of age. In 1970, the Viettis began an original artwork labelprogram. This series was exhibited at New Yorks MoMA in 1996. The last six editions have beendedicated entirely to the Villero Riserva Barolo. NEBBIOLO Wine
