Bodegas Breca Garnacha De Fuego 2011 750ML
This wine is from Spain, Aragon region, Calatayud sub-region. "Bodegas Zabrin is a new project for importer Jorge Ordonez and the Gil family of Jumilla (whose value-priced wines have consistently received raves in this publication). A remarkable value, the 2005 Garnacha de Fuego is fashioned from a 60- to 80-year-old hillside vineyard planted at a relatively high altitude above 3,000 feet. It is hard to believe a $7+ wine could possess so much flavor. Sweet raspberry and cherry fruit intermixed with loamy soil and spice aromas soar from the glass of this medium-bodied, richly fruity red that has never seen a hint of wood.. The 2011 Garnacha de Fuego, a 100% Grenache cuvee, was aged in both stainless steel and neutral French oak. There are 10,000 cases for the United States. This amazing wine boasts a dark ruby/purple color along with a sweet kiss of jammy black cherries intertwined with crushed rock notes that give the wine an undeniable minerality. As it hits the palate, a full-bodied, voluptuous texture takes hold and the flavor profile moves towards blacker fruits (ripe raspberries and black currants) intermixed with camphor and forest floor. This full-bodied, rich, glycerin-filled effort should drink well for 4-5 years, perhaps longer. GRENACHE Wine
