Manufacture Country Italy

This wine is from Italy, Piedmont region. An intense garnet red, lively and brilliant with a slight orange rim. Is nose appears candid, elegant and strong, evoking dog-rose, mint and tobacco that in time turn to fragrances of spices, coffee, liquorice and truffle with a leather and mineral finish. In the mouth it appears full, rounded, strong bodied and well balanced. It has a forward flavor of plum preserve and dried blackberry with a chocolate finish giving a harmonious and pleasant aromatic persistence. It is extremely affable in its first years, becoming austere with classic elegance and boldness as time goes on. It loves braised meats, game in wine and roasts and matured cheese, it goes well with sheep cheese and Parmesan cheese. Robert Parker 91 Points "The 2004 Barolo Ravera is another beautiful effort. Raverais a vineyard that typically yields wines with a firm tannicspine, yet this Barolo has plenty of fruit to provide an engagingcounterpoint. Dark cherries, plums, tar and smoke allcome to life as this elegant, medium-bodied Barolo struts itsstuff. The Barolo Ravera is aged for a year in French oak(40% new) followed by a second year in cask. Anticipatedmaturity: 2011-2021." Wines & Spirits 94 Points "The Ravera cru near the village of Novello is planted at justover 1,200 feet. You can feel the influence of the altitude inthis refined "04 - dynamic flavors coalesce around the lean, elegant structure. It"s all cherries and plums when firstpoured, and with air gains earthy complexity as aromas ofdried porcini and a sanguine mineral character begin toemerge. Its flavors are edged along in the gentle grip of thewine"s tannins, a progression that feels composed and classicalin nature. Cellar this for a decade or more, or decant forgrilled rack of lamb."2009 Tre Bicchieri Award by Gambero Rosso NEBBIOLO Wine
