Coenzyme Q10, or CoQ10, is a vitamin-like compound involved in energy production. In addition, research has identified CoQ10 for its role as a powerful antioxidant. The antioxidant activity of CoQ10 is limited in the sense that it protects only against the damage to fat. It also helps to increase antioxidants in the body by having a “sparing” effect on vitamin E.
