Faber-Castell Monochrome Pastel sets are handy and portable, perfect for students or artists who create outside of the studio. The 25 set includes: 4 Graphite Pure pencils (woodless graphite), White (medium and soft), Sanguine, Light Sepia, Dark Sepia and Black Pastel pencils, a Sanguine oil-based pencil, a Castell 9000 graphite pencil (HB), a charcoal pencil, a stick of pressed charcoal, a blending stump, a kneadable eraser, White (medium and soft), Burnt sanguine, Dark raw sanguine, Sepia (roman and medium), and Burnt Black (Medium and soft) pastel sticks, and a Natural charcoal stick (6mm). All pieces are highly pigmented and extremely lightfast. The oil-based pencils create a smooth laydown of color with a silky surface and will not smudge. In contrast the pastel pencils can be smudged when necessary and require that a fixative be applied when the work is complete. Both are excellent for creating fine lines and detail. The pastel sticks are ideal for use in large areas.
