Now with a project that promises to be the same boom that revolutionized the music market in the 90"s, Chico came to the studio to prepare an album that is being carefully blended with the passionate characteristic of gipsy music, peppered with new elements, in which Latin music becomes a recognizable element. Chico was appointed an ambassador to UNESCO in 1998 during a ceremony in Dublin. Chico Castillo has participated alongside celebrities, and leaders. In the 90´s, Chico had the opportunity to sing at a reception at the White House under President Bill Clinton term, he also participated in concerts against apartheid, for the release of Nelson Mandela, and charitable events in which he attended alongside Lady Diana. Since his arrival in the United States and Mexico, Chico had the opportunity of meeting Maná, Alejandro Fernandez and Emilio Estefan, who have learned of his new musical fusions and have shown Chico respect and admiration. Living between two worlds, the traditional flamenco and the fusion that Chico created; the gipsy movement, Chico wants to expose his talent and music and has admitted how grateful he is, although he has passion and dedication for his art, he is pleased to know that composers of other genres recognize his talent and admire his music. With one foot in America, which goes from North to South, Chico returned to strum the strings of his guitar and deliver his product to the public. Slowly but surely, Chico takes on song and does so in his own voice. Before his return Chico had the opportunity to sit down and write for others, including Café Quijano, Chantal Chamandi and other artists. Through projects that gave Chico tremendous applause, Chico participated in the Don Juan musical, which traveled throughout Canada and France. This year the world will witness a musical movement that fuses flamenco with Arab and Latin touches.
