The Rubbermaid Commercial Defenders step trash can is a square, galvanized steel garbage can that has a foot pedal that lifts the lid to enable hands-free waste disposal and has a powder-coated finish. It complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standard 1910.1030 on bloodborne pathogens for the safe containment of infectious waste. The piano-hinge lid has a restraining mechanism to help prevent the lid from flipping backward. Galvanized steel is stronger than aluminum and resists rust and dents.
