The C-141, called Starlifter, was one of the U.S. Air Force"s prime movers from the mid 60s until 2006, when the last units were withdrawn from service. The Starlifter first served during the Vietnam conflict, and participated in many American operations worldwide, with its last flights taken to Iraq and Afghanistan. The C-141 was an military aircraft, with one exceptional unit delivered to NASA for transport duties. It had a powerful airframe, and early versions were often fully filled before they met their maximum weight capacity, resulting in a program to stretch the airframe that took place from 1977 to 1982. The model painstakingly reconstructed here is that of the aircraft after the extension program, model C-141B. With superb attention to detail and a solid construction, this model will be a prime piece of any collection. About Toys and Models Corporation Since 1982, Toys and Models has created exquisitely detailed, historically accurate replicas of aircraft. New technology and materials combined with painstaking detail ensure that when you purchase a model from Toys and Models, you"ll admire it for years to come.
