The Memphis Belle is perhaps one of the most iconic aircraft in American military history. Named for pilot Robert K. Morgan"s sweetheart back home in Tennessee, the Memphis Belle was one of the first bombers of the war to complete a full, 25-mission tour. The bomber"s first mission was a raid on Brest, France, on November 7, 1942, and her final combat flight was on May 19, 1943, to Kiel, Germany. This was also the 25th mission for the crew of the Memphis Belle, and afterwards, the plane and her crew were transferred to America to participate in a war bond tour. Such a finely crafted model of this legendary aircraft would be a boon to any collector or enthusiast.
