The Albatros D.V was a fighter aircraft used by the Luftstreitkräfte (Imperial German Air Service) during World War I. The D.V was the final development of the Albatros D.I family, and the last Albatros fighter to see operational service. The Albatros D.V used one 180-200-hp Mercedes D.IIa inline piston engine. This gave the airplane a maximum level speed of 116 mph, rate of climb 4 minutes to 3,280 feet, service ceiling of 18,700 feet, and endurance of two hours. One of the significant improvements over the previous Albatros D.II airplane, was the relocation of the radiator in the upper wing center-section being moved outward.
