This textbook instructs learners on how to ridthemselves of poor reading habits such as vo- calization and finger reading. Through the use of scientific reading methods, and accompanying exercises, learners will develop their sensitivity towards the Chinese language and read a greater amount faster, and more naturally. Articles selected include: 1) articles on topical subjects that cover issues concerning the interna- tional community and Chinas society, and that will be found interesting by foreign students; 2) articles on scientific knowledge that cover the knowledge of nature and society.
