This is a 1/32 McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II Plastic Marines Aircraft Model Kit by Tamiya. For modelers age 10 and over. The 101st Fighter Squadron of the Navy became the first to be outfitted with the F-4J in 1966, and the Marines in 1967. It broke record after record, including top-speed, altitude, and time-to-climb. On September 11, 1972, The F-4J shot down a MiG-21 near Hanoi, in the Vietnam War. That was the only time a MiG was downed by a U.S. Marine aircraft. The F-4J remained with the Marines until 1991. Battling in five major conflicts, spanning over three decades, the Phantom II earned a special place in warplane history. FEATURES: The exterior of the aircraft is accurately reproduced.
