Inspired by British horror cult classics such as THE WICKER MAN and HAMMER HOUSE OF HORROR! Rick thoughtlessly chooses to bring his girlfriend Sadie who is terrified of water to the remote island of Amen to celebrate her birthday. He also brings along his pal Johnny, who he happens to be having an affair with. At the island, they meet Corinne, who turns out to have a mysterious family connection to Sadie. Horrific consequences await the threesome as they find themselves trapped on the island by the tide. Filmed entirely on location in Northumberland in the North East of England and on the stunning tidal island of Lindisfarne, Unhappy Birthday is led by a young British cast, including David Paisley (Holby City, Casualty) Jill Riddiford (Our Friends in the North), Christina De Vallee and Jonathan Keane, with a cameo by trash horror legend David McGillivray.
