Selena Marie Gomez began her acting career on the popular children"s TV show Barney & Friends. At the time she was only 7 years old. She is daughter of former stage actress Amanda "Mandy" Teefey and Ricardo Joel Gomez. Selena says she believes her interest in acting developed from watching her mother preform in theatre productions.
