A "balsero" (rafter) flees from Cuban dreams gone wrong and lands in a Miami of no return, where desperation to change his life leads this "new man" to commit despicable acts. A controversial and subversive taste of an imagined freedom, PARAISO explores generational and class divides within the Cuban exile community seldom addressed in cinema.
