First big-screen outing for the western hero and his Native American sidekick Tonto. The mysterious Lone Ranger (Clayton Moore), keeping the peace in the wild west, discovers a plan by evil cattle baron Reece Kilgore (Lyle Bettger) to deliberately start a war amongst the Native American population, so that in the aftermath he can expand his landholdings. Assisted by Tonto (Jay Silverheels), and Kilgore"s young daughter, the Lone Ranger rides once more to the rescue, intent on helping the Indians and defeating Kilgore"s plans.
