NTSC/Region 0. Erroll Garner was one of the few true audience favorites among Jazz pianists. He possessed an amazing capacity for improvisation and created a completely personal and identifiable style. His music could fit equally well within both a swing context and a bebop session. He could play the oldest songs or the newest Beatles hits and make them effortlessly his own (as can be attested here when listening to his treatment of "Something"). His original compositions are completely unique both harmonically and melodically. At least one of them, the celebrated "Misty", achieved wide-spread international fame both within and beyond Jazz circles. "Misty" was obviously one of the most requested songs during Erroll"s live performances, and we present not one but three different versions here!! Our DVD includes two European concerts from the later years of Garner"s long and fruitful career, backed by his working group and playing in a context which he favored during that period: the classic jazz piano trio with bass and drums, plus a conga drummer. 11 tracks.
