This concert which took place in 1993 in Bremen , Germany consist of two compositions, SWIM and MAGIC SCULPTURES STRIPE THE AIR BREATHLESS. With a mighty assist from the Deutschen Philharmonie of Bremen, the Art Ensemble of Chicago digs into their bag of musical tricks and presents an amazing display of Afro- tinged avant-garde jazz performances. Lester Bowie, Malachi Favors, Joseph Jarman, Roscoe Mitchell and Don Moye have merged their individual souls into a greater collective, adopting the motto "Great Black Music; Ancient to the Future". They have put forth their soulfulness and experimentation and radical commentary in face paint, costumes, and unique instruments as they explore musical frontiers. The future never sounded so exhilarating.
