Juan (Goya-winner Juan Luis Galiardo) is a ladies man who has perfected his art, a rogue who lives off his charm and his gambling acumen. Although since hitting middle age he has been forced to hide his increased years, he is still successful in his endeavors--that is, until Caty (Laura Ramos) shows up on his doorstep, claiming to be his daughter from a tryst in Cuba many years ago. She wants to gain Spanish citizenship, and Juan is her ticket; this development is a decided inconvenience to Juan"s existence, however, and he wants none of it. Furthermore, his latest failed love affair with Alicia (Teresa Gimpera) has taken a turn for the worse, as Alicia"s crooked husband Pozueta (Jesus Bonilla) is intent on putting Juan in jail. But the plot thickens when Pozueta develops a liking for Caty, and offers to marry her on a condition that depends entirely upon Juan. This hilarious comedy is the third installment of director Jose Luis Garcia Sanchez"s state-of-Spain trilogy, with a caterwauling plot that leads ultimately to a message of heartwarming family values.
