Simply insert a stack of up to 250 letter size sheets into the top of the shredder and shut the lid. It’s that easy. Just stack, shut and you’re done. It gets better with Auto+ automatic jam clearance technology. As the 250X shredder works through a stack of papers, it will automatically reverse and re-feed any sheet that becomes jammed. An LED light will indicate if user action is required for the rare jam that the Stack-and-Shred could not automatically clear. This cross-cut shredder shreds papers in two different directions to provide moderate, Level 3 document security. Documents with sensitive information, such as social security numbers, are destroyed as the cutters turn one 8.5” x 11” sheet of paper into over 300 tiny pieces. Stack-and-Shred also has a Self Clean feature to extend the life of the cutters. Paper that builds-up or gets caught in the cutters during use is automatically removed to ensure that the shredder can continue to deliver jam free performance over time. It takes just over 20 minutes for the 250X to automatically shred 250 sheets. If you have smaller shredding needs, you can use the manual bypass slot. It accepts up to 8 sheets of paper, including glossy, crumpled or non-letter size sheets. Both automatic and manual functions do not require you to remove staples or paper clips. Shredded paper falls into a spacious 11-gallon waste bin with a view window. Simply pull-out the bin and dump the shreds when you see it is full. Plastic and recyclable paper bags can be used to line the bin and help keep your work area neat. A separate manual feed slot and waste bin are included for shredding of DVDs, CDs and credit cards.
