This book is about the history of the first Russian law on freedom of the press initiated by the three authors: Iu. Baturin, M. Fedotov, V. Entin and passed in 1989. The authors of the law consider this fact as a legal miracle and describe the circumstances which allowed it to happen, a so called "window of history". The book also describes the problems of enforcing this law and defending it against the new governments administrations and other enemies of freedom of the press.
