This book presents papers from the capacity building conference on "Scaling up the Success of Capacity Building in Economic Education and Research," which took place in Budapest at the Central European University campus, held June 14 15, 2005, and co-hosted by CEU and the WB. For the last 15 years, the World Bank and its partners, private foundations and governments, have supported the centers of excellence for building capacity in modern economics education and research in developing and transition countries. To strengthen the efforts, the Central European University (CEU) and the World Bank jointly organized the conference on Scaling up the Success of Capacity Building in Economic Education and Research, which took place in Budapest at the CEU campus.
