Innovation and Research Policies: An International Comparative Analysis (New Horizons in the Economics of Innovation)

Addresses major current policy debates in science, technology, and innovation, focusing mainly on Europe but also including comparisons with other countries around the world. Research and development (R&D) policies of five European countries are examined to understand national innovation systems and public policies, determination of R&D spending priorities, research responsibilities, and allocation of funds. Relates innovation and research policies to structural and institutional features of national economies.
