This is the third volume of the collection of information books about the gubernias and oblasts of the Russian Empire. Volume one of the series includes the European North: Arkhangelsk, Vologda, i Olenetsk Gubernias and Index. Volume two covers the North-Western region: North-West: Novgorod, Pskov, and St. Petersburg Gubernias. The current volume, the main part of the research project, includes the information book of the central region, Nechernozemnyi Center (non-black earth zone) Book 1: Vladimir, Kaluga, Moscow and Ryazan Gubernias. Book 2: Smolensk, Tversk, Tula and Yaroslav Gubernias. Started in 2002.
