This book is the second extended edition of the first monograph on design in Russia. Design in Russia became in many ways the continuation of the soviet avant-garde of the 1920s (mostly LEF) with its pan-design spirit and enthusiasm. Viacheslav Glazychev (1940-2012), was an architect by education, a specialist in the design and development of the urban environment, and a politician, and a member of Obshchestvennaia Palata. The second edition includes his insets in the first edition (1970): comments, corrections, or reflections on the modern state of design in Russia and abroad.
