King of the Road is the album that made Boxcar Willie famous. Advertised on English television, the record wound up climbing to number five on the U.K. charts, setting the stage for his breakthrough success in the United States and Canada. King of the Road consists of a number of traditional country songs, including "Wabash Cannonball," "San Antonio Rose," "You Are My Sunshine," "Mule Train," "Rolling in My Sweet Baby"s Arms," and three Hank Williams songs, with a couple of cute originals thrown in for good measure.
