Sound System features a 100 page, fully illustrated, hardback book detailing the history of Jamaican music, written by music biographer Chris Salewicz and legendary photographer Adrian Boot. Also included are 8 CDs covering the best of the music from Jamaicas last 50 years - including tracks from Bob Marley (his inclusion on a compilation is rare), Toots and The Maytals, Millie, Inner Circle, Damian Marley, Desmond Dekker, Lee "Scratch" Perry, Grace Jones, Prince Buster, Beenie Man, Gregory Isaacs, Jimmy Cliff, Apache Indian, Linton Kwesi Johnson and many more. Sound System is the first compilation of its kind, bigger, more in depth and better iinformed than any previous Jamaican music retrospective.
