Orch of Wolves

A screaming blast from across the Atlantic, England"s Gallows have arrived to remind us of punk"s angry roots. Their debut album, Orchestra of Wolves, originally released in the UK in 2006, saw the band immediately heralded as saviors of the scene, "the best British punk band since The Clash" (Kerrang!), with "one of the finest displays of sneering, snotty attitude since The Sex Pistols." (Total Guitar). Gallows combine the founding fury of bands like Black Flag and Minor Threat, blended with the melodic hardcore of Refused, and a brutally honest social vision, unflinchingly tackling topics such as hometown violence, date rape and broken homes. On July 10th, just as Gallows mount their first assault on US audiences from the main stage of the 2007 Warped Tour, Epitaph will release the debut US version of Orchestra of Wolves, featuring three never-before-heard tracks, including a blistering cover of Black Flag"s "Nervous Breakdown." With a reputation for shattering live performances already buzzing in the US - no less a respected institution than the UK"s Observer called Gallow"s shows a "carnival of love and hate, after which their fans limp home slathered in blood, spit and sweat" - Gallows are certain to stand out on this year"s Warped Tour, a scalding reminder of what punk can be.
