This is the sixth volume of selected works by Viacheslav Vsevolodovich Ivanov (b. 1929), a linguist (ancient Eastern languages), historian of literature and culture, poet and writer, director of the Institute of World Culture of Moscow State University, and professor of Russian culture at the University of California at Los Angeles. He is one of the last remaining representatives of the Moscow-Tartu Semiotic School. The previous five volumes were published in 2000-2009, the last four volumes are also available. The current volume contains works on the history of Russian humanities and literature, including achievements of M. Bakhtin, A.I. Berg, R. Iakobson, V.N. Toporov, M. Tsetlin, and many others.
