Also on the date was Robert Lockwood, Jr., the step-son of one of the most extraordinary blues singers who ever recorded, the late Robert Johnson. Like his step-father, Robert Lockwood, Jr., also sings with biting, coruscating passion. Otis played great imaginative, meaty piano blues, complementing his highly individual and expressive vocal style.
