All the materials of our Russian language textbook are suggested for creative use by pedagogues: shortening or expanding parts, enlarging or reducing the number of oral and written exercises (lessons), and so forth. Methodological instructions for teaching are placed at the bottom of some pages. The book"s picture material facilitates the child"s mastering of Russian grammar. Besides that, it may be used for the development of children"s spoken speech. At the time of introduction to our book, the child should possess joined-syllabic reading and be able to lead a sound-letter analysis of syllables and words, and also: 1) Differentiate by ear the sounds (letters) that begin and end a word; 2) Be able to think up words from a given sound (letter); 3) Determine the place of any sound in a word: in the beginning of the word, the end, or the middle.
