He did his undergraduate work in Biological Sciences at San Jose State University, and earned a J.D. from the University of Utah, and an L.L.M. and an S.J.D. in International Legal Studies from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He has qualified to practice law in three states, and in the District of Columbia.
