A Vision for Platform Autonomy: Robust Frameworks for Systems
A Vision for Platform Autonomy provides the holistic overview and the solution to the platform autonomics related to power, thermal, RAS, locality, and resource monitoring. In addition to providing the theoretical basis of autonomics features, this book introduces the current state of the art in Intel(r) platforms. It covers the software-based models and industry standards relevant to each autonomics feature. The emerging concept of low-speed wireless interconnects to achieve better platform autonomics is introduced as well. With platform autonomics, the system is able to maintain a stable equilibrium while hiding the complexity of the autonomics system from the users, much like its biological inspiration--the autonomic nervous system--does in our bodies.
