Climate Risk

The present study focuses the assessment of vulnerability due to climate risks especially cyclone at Shyamnagar union, Shyamnagar Upazilla, Satkhira district under Bangladesh. The method is based on quasi-experimental study design and mainly on systematic sampling in focus group discussion approach involving 100 respondents. The major findings of this research are eastern parts of the study area are highly risky. Main occupations of peoples of the study area are agriculture (25%) and Shirmp cultivation (20%). The production of agriculture (40%) is reducing and fisheries are floating (55%) due to cyclone. Actually, the southern part of the study area is less vulnerable. The eastern part of the study area is highly risky, central part is moderately risky, and western part is low risky for cyclonic disaster.
