WIRELESS LOCATION

Due to the inability of GPS indoor positioning, many terrestrial-radio-based localization systems have been proposed for assisting in mobile target localization. Multicarrier transmission has been becoming a good option for these systems because of its robustness against multipath. This book thoroughly investigates the performance of the multicarrier transmission for wireless location systems. The fundamental limit of multicarrier based range estimation is analyzed in various communication environments and compared with that of the pseudo- random noise sequence, which is widely using in current “GNSS – Global Navigation Satellite Systems“. Furthermore, the multicarrier transmission for both future GPS and future OFDM-based cellular localization systems are also discussed. This book is intended to serve as a reference for university students, researchers, professionals and scientists in the fields of wireless location, ranging, positioning, navigation, wireless communication...
