Echocardiography in Normal Egyptian Infants

The aim of this work was to identify different cardiac measurements in normal Egyptian infants by echocardiography. The results of this study were discussed and compared with previous studies in the same field. All parameters were measured by two experienced Cardiologists as well as Echocardiographers: Ass. Prof. AMR NAIM and Ass. Prof. SAMEH ARAB; I owe very much their meticulous assistance. I am particularly indebted to Prof. Dr. WAGDY AYAD and Prof. Dr. TAREKEL-BADAWY for their kind supervision and keen interest that added much. The normal values obtained in this study provide a framework that may serve as a basis for comparison as well as assessment of cardiac performance in pediatric patients having or suspected of having cardiac disease.
