This Book focuses on Peer-to-peer technology, that is used for the self-organizing network so that no central service provider is needed. Research challenges include efficiency and scalability aspects and the support for location based search. We study a model for peer-to-peer file sharing. The goal is to distribute a file from a peer to multiple peers. This report describes the implementation of a bandwidth-efficient and easy to deploy TTL Scoped based search algorithm for Peer-to-Peer networks with fast file downloading feature. To implement the file sharing system, a Sockets-based messaging framework was implemented in Java, using command line interfaces. The file system enables distributed peers to present a virtual single directory to users while sharing file load across different platforms.
