At the beginning of the 20th century, the art moving in Germany and other countries in a new direction, towards the existing understanding of art and against the Impressionism, towards reduced motifs with expressive colors. Especially in Germany, was the expressionism of artists of "bridge" and the association "The Blue Rider" coined. Whether z. B. Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Otto Mueller and Franz Marc, the artist protested with their images and their way of life against the bourgeoisie.
