Partners in Prison

Imagine that someone broke into your home and locked you in a closet, bound and gagged. You want to cry out, you want to break free, but you can neither move nor make a sound. This describes the state of a person with Locked-in Syndrome (LIS) - only the "closet" is his/her own body. My husband became a victim of LIS following a massive brain stem stroke. This book explains how the family and I carried on our lives while trying to ease his suffering and keep alive the mind and spirit within him.
